Human Resources?

SlavesMerriam-Webster defines resource as:

a: a source of supply or support : an available means
b: a natural source of wealth or revenue
c: a natural feature or phenomenon that enhances the quality of human life
d: computable wealth

The same dictionary defines “Human resources” as an alias for “Personnel”, which is defined as “persons who are employed” and was first used in 1961.

It looks like the term was coined by people who think in terms of factories, machines, …etc.

Reading the definition, I wouldn’t call myself “Human resource”, it feels like slavery!

I would feel offended if somebody called me “Hey, human resource, come here!”.
